Southeast Asia countries reopen their borders

The Southeast Asia nations progressively reopen borders allowing vaccinated visitors to come.

Thailand resumes quarantine-free travel for fully vaccinated visitors starting from February 1, 2022.  Under the Test & Go program, fully vaccinated passengers are exempt from self-isolation after testing negative for COVID-19. Passengers must have a negative PCR test issued within 72 hours before travelling. Visitors are required to undergo two PCR tests after arrival, one upon entry and another on the fifth day.

The Philippines is also easing border controls and is officially allowing tourists to enter the country starting February 1, the Philippine government is temporarily suspending its risk classification list for countries, in favour of allowing fully vaccinated individuals to enter the country:

February 1 Returning fully vaccinated Filipinos, regardless of where they come from;

February 10 Fully vaccinated foreigners from visa-free countries.

Both returning Filipinos and foreigners who are fully vaccinated are no longer required to go through mandatory quarantine. They only need a negative RT-PCR test done within 48 hours before their departure from abroad.

Last year, Singapore also reopened borders for vaccinated travellers from other countries via the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) programme. The VTLs were introduced in early September, allowing vaccinated travellers to Singapore to avoid being subject to a stay-home notice if they instead underwent multiple Covid PCR tests. So far Singapore has VTLs in place with 24 countries.

Under this programme this VTL programme, travellers entering Singapore via air or land do not have to quarantine. They are only required to undergo daily unsupervised self-administered ARTs from Day 2 to Day 7 of their arrival if they need to leave their place of accommodation, in addition to fulfilling pre-departure and on-arrival testing requirements.
