Hong Kong remains the world’s freest economy for 25 years

Hong Kong has been looked up to by investors around the world for its renowned status as an international financial centre with strict adherence to the rule of law, simple taxation benefits and multiculturalism. Adding to that, it is now also mentioned by a US-based think-tank, The Heritage Foundation, to be the world’s freest economy for 25th successive years. The 2019 index assessed economies around the world based on their regulations, market openness, law and governance etc. It was the only economy to have scored over 90 points and was trailed by Singapore, New Zealand, Australia and Taiwan.
