The measures &#8211; covering <strong>household solar rooftop systems<\/strong> and <strong>energy-efficient machinery<\/strong> -are designed to lower upfront investment costs, reduce electricity consumption, and support the country\u2019s long-term sustainability goals. The tax scheme will become effective upon its publication in the Royal Gazette and will remain in force <strong>through December 2028<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> <u>Personal Income Tax Deduction for Solar Rooftops<\/u><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Homeowners installing on-grid solar rooftop systems can now claim a <strong>tax deduction of up to THB 200,000<\/strong>, including equipment and installation costs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key conditions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Taxpayer must be a residential \u201cType 1\u201d electricity user.<\/li>\n<li>Electricity meter name must match the taxpayer.<\/li>\n<li>Solar system must be <strong>on-grid (i.e. connected to MEA or PEA grid)<\/strong>, with capacity <strong>up to 10 kWp<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Only <strong>one installation<\/strong> per household is eligible.<\/li>\n<li>A full VAT <strong>e-Tax Invoice<\/strong> is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong><u> 150% Tax Deduction for High-Efficiency Machinery<\/u><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Companies and individuals earning income under Section 40 (5) \u2013 (8) of the Revenue Code upgrading to certified high-efficiency machinery or building materials can deduct <strong>150% of the actual cost<\/strong> from their taxable income.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility notes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Equipment must be <strong>new<\/strong>, used in Thailand, and <strong>certified<\/strong> (e.g., 5-star energy label).<\/li>\n<li>Must be installed and operational <strong>by 31 December 2028<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>A full VAT <strong>e-Tax Invoice<\/strong> is required.<\/li>\n<li>Cannot be combined with overlapping incentive schemes for the same asset (e.g. the THB 200,000 personal income tax deduction).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong><u> Practical Points to Keep in Mind<\/u><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Incentives shall only become effective upon publication in the Royal Thai Government Gazette.<\/li>\n<li>Proper documentation\u2014especially <strong>VAT e-Tax Invoices<\/strong> and <strong>certification proof<\/strong>\u2014is essential.<\/li>\n<li>Solar systems above <strong>10 kWp<\/strong>, off-grid systems, or non-certified equipment do <strong>not<\/strong> qualify.<\/li>\n<li>Taxpayers should also monitor potential updates from the Ministry of Energy and\/or the Revenue Department as implementation guidelines evolve.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Thai government regularly introduces new tax-incentive schemes to encourage investment, tourism, energy efficiency, and overall economic development.
